Hangin' low with no place to go
it's all good though
doors swinging open up everywhere
some wearing dirty underwear
rocking with the roll
with a star who didn't sell their soul
out to those who want to know

out came a new song
one that will live long
she called it bluestar
she left the guitar and took it to the piano
she didn't know what note would fall
she wasn't sure about anything at all
except that she needed to let go
boy did it ever
and out rang the tears
along with four years
now's the new show
it starts off a little slow
but out to the few
where the old are born new
love songs grow up to be something different
bluestar is a sign of the times
that foretells the awakening
and the quickening
leaps and bounds beyond your wildest dreams
reality sews unsewn stitches into the seams
it seems too much to believe
but just listen a little
and take heed to the sounds you hear
as the awakening is here
and the quickening is near
